Xerography
Hands
• By combining his bodily movements with those of the machine's moving scanner, José Ferreira W. obtains these anamorphic -though objective- traces he names Morphocopies, which yield polysemous and sometimes abstract images composed of deformed "in-motion" body parts.

• The impossibility of ever reproducing the exact same conjunction of two such movements endows the images obtained through this process with the attributes of unique pieces.

• Accidental fingerprints and wiping traces that may appear on the copier's plateglass are taken advantage of and exploited as a textured background.
